Full-time Mid-Level Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) position available for individual to work as a hospitalist providing medical care to patients at Waldo County General Hospital. Physician Assistant requires certification by the NCCPA; Nurse Practitioner must be a Registered Nurse and have completed an advanced education program approved by the Maine State Board of Nursing. Mid-Level Provider requires registration with the Maine Board of Registration in Medicine and eligibility to obtain DEA. Experience in providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency medical care is preferred.
Part-time (48 hours biweekly) Registered Nurse position available on the night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) in WIHCU. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; BCLS & Neonatal certification required; previous OB/GYN and Neonatal experience highly desired.
Full-time Perioperative Lead Registered Nurse position available. Individual will be responsible for providing guidance, clinical expertise, and mentoring to members of the health care team within the OR while optimizing available resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes and allocation of human resources of the unit on a daily basis. Completes work flow schedules to meet patient care needs and budget and monitors work flow and adjusts assignments to assure optimum work flow. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required (BSN preferred). ACLS and CPR certification and taking call required. Two years perioperative services experience; Previous supervisor or charge experience; Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population; and basic computer skills (eg, Microsoft® Word) preferred.
Part-time Communications Operator position available. Individual will be responsible for directing incoming, outgoing and interoffice communications. Receiving patients, visitors and vendors upon arrival to the hospital; attending to the main lobby and waiting area; directing volunteer activity with regard to transport and mailroom responsibilities. High school diploma or equivalent; strong computer skills; strong interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills required and Medical Terminology preferred. Hours: Mon & Tues 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; Friday 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and every other weekend 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with flexibility to fill in as needed.
Part-time (40 hours biweekly). Must have current unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Maine. Candidate will work in a hospital based dental clinic. Must be a team player who works well with others. Previous experience with electronic dental records and digital imaging preferred. Must be comfortable performing all aspects of restorative dentistry including extractions. Willingness to perform community outreach and be comfortable with public speaking.

Full-time Internal Medicine Mid-Level Practitioner, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, position available at Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast to provide medical care in an outpatient practice setting. Physician Assistant requires certification by the Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and eligibility for temporary and eventual, full registration with the Maine Board of Registration in Medicine. Nurse Practitioners require State of Maine registered nurse license and documented completion of an advanced education program approved by the Maine State Board of Nursing and the Maine Board of Registration in Medicine. Experience in providing family oriented medical care to adults ages 18+, basic laboratory procedures, and health education is preferred. 32-40 hours per week.
Per diem Registered Nurse position available. Registered Nurse in the State of Maine with BLS, ACLS, and AED competency. Prior anticoagulation experience preferred. Will need to complete Anticoagulation Therapy Management Certification Program within 6 months of hire.
Full-time Revenue Analyst. This position is responsible for evaluating processes and identifies opportunities to improve the revenue/charging process through root cause analysis. They assist in the development of workflows as lead by the supervisor. They also play an integral role in relationship management with clinical departments. This position contributes to the reinforcement of the mission of the Revenue Integrity Program in building a partnership between finance and the clinical departments in order to gain greater visibility into business processes and develop the workflows, communications, accountability and leadership needed to ensure optimal reimbursement and compliance. Requirements include an Associate’s degree or 2 years of demonstrated competency in data analysis and problem solving in a comparable environment. Knowledge of revenue cycle processes, medical billing and coding processes, basic accounting principles, quantitative decision making and process analysis through formal education or two years of work experience. Ability to learn and use all Patient Accounts related computer systems. Advanced level of communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of production and accuracy in an extremely task driven environment. Advanced computer analytical skills to create and maintain reports and provide analysis from information accessed from the Patient Accounts computer system.
QUALITY ASSESSMENT AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATE/REGISTERED NURSE
Waldo County General Hospital is seeking a full-time Outpatient Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Associate. This position works under the supervision of the Physician Practice Manager and will serves as a resource for all outpatient provider office QAPI activities and directs staff in the performance and completion of required QAPI activities. This position collaborates with practice supervisors, office staff, physicians, mid-level providers and coworkers to improve performance and provide continuous safe, quality services in the practice setting. Additional tasks may include data abstraction/reporting to meet required internal and external QAPI requirements. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine required. Outpatient practice experience and quality improvement background strongly preferred. Must be self -motivated and highly productive. Able to lead a team effectively. Excellent computer skills required.
