Thompson has new responsibilities

August 13th, 2012

 Virgil Thompson has accepted the position of Safety Manager. Effective Oct. 1, the Maintenance Department. will be separated into two departments. Bill Jenkins will continue as Maintenance Manager and Virgil will take over the management of safety and security personnel. In addition, Virgil will assume the responsibility of several information systems related to safety and security and will also take a lead role in the development and training of disaster preparedness.

Havens has new certification

January 3rd, 2011

Congratulations to Phyllis Havens, MS, RD, LCSW, who has added three new initials after her name—CDE.Havens, the outpatient Registered Dietitian for the Diabetes Self-Management Education Program at Waldo County General Hospital, recently passed the examination by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Education to become a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). A CDE is required to have experience, along with specialized knowledge, in diabetes self-management education.
