All proceeds go to the Oncology Patient Assistance Fund and Mammography Fund. The Oncology Patient Assistance Fund helps financial issues. Patients undergoing treatments or recovering from treatment often are unable to work or can only work considerably less than normal.
The Mammography Fund helps pay for mammograms and breast biopsies for patients with no insurance or insurance with a high deductible.
The walk is also meant to support cancer patients undergoing treatment; honor patients who have survived cancer; and especially to keep close the memory of those lost to cancer.
