Health Centers

All provide a full range of adult and pediatric primary care services, counseling, patient education and diagnostic testing. The Centers are a participating site of Raising Readers, which provides children with free books at well-child checkups, and the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program, which pays for mammograms and pap tests for low income/uninsured women. Healthy Waldo County

In 2001, Waldo County General Hospital received money from the Fund for a Healthy Maine to develop one of the 32 organizations of the Healthy Maine Partnership (HMP) network. The Healthy Living Project became Waldo County’s HMP organization in 2002. For six years the goals of the project were to increase physical activity and good nutrition and decrease tobacco use. More
